The client:
New FM is one of Newcastle’s most recognised brands and broadcasters in our region. It’s name iconic among novacastrians it’s been broadcasting since 1989 and proudly identify itself as the original. (For broadcast lovers, it transmits from Mt Sugarloaf.)
About the shoot;
Todays shoot involved capturing a there person talking head of the breakfast team taste testing toasted sandwiches in Newcastle.
The talent appearing on camera was ‘the novos’ which is the stations breakfast team. They were also joiner by special guest Piper Butcher who appeared on Australian Idol.
It was great to be out last week shooting for 105.3 NEW FM in Newcastle with the breakfast team on their series ‘Tour De Toastie.’
Todays weather despite being terrible for rain, it presented us with cloud coverage which acted as a large soft box, giving us nice soft and even lighting across all areas of our shoot!
Challenges & Learned Experience
I opted for using radio mics here for this shoot due to it’s location, being close to a main road, I wanted to pick up as much of the presenters as I could but no the road noise. I ran the audio back to a field mixer, and used on board mic only to sync audio in post.
.
Todays shoot presented a challenges as the weather gave us light showers throughout the duration of the shoot. – some camera weatherproofing on the future could be useful for the next shoot.
What was also unique to this shoot, both challenging and rewarding was the turn around for deliverables.
Shooting finished around 12pm, the content was delivered for upload by roughly 5PM same day!
